The Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® is the first pharmacological treatment for presbyopia and the only one patented worldwide. This treatment rehabilitates accommodation lost due to presbyopia, thus being able to avoid the use of glasses and/or surgeries. The prescription of this treatment is personalized and must be carried out by a trained ophthalmologist, who evaluates the possibility of performing the treatment and its correct indication. The Método Benozzi® consists on the daily application of eye-drops prescribed by the attending physician.
The Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® cannot be applied to any person, each patient has to be particularly evaluated to determine which is the most appropriate treatment for him and whether pharmacological treatment for presbyopia can be performed. To begin with, the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® can be used by healthy patients who suffer presbyopia (generally older than 40 years old), having this been associated to other patient’s refractive conditions of the patient such as hyperopia, myopia and astigmatism.
Patients who cannot perform the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® are those who have been operated from cataracts and patients with any other ocular disorders that causes the reduction of sight, different to the loss of accommodation; such as maculopathy, retinopathy, retinal detachment, retinal and corneal disorders, neuropathies, etc. All patients should be previously assessed by a trained ophthalmologist to detect possible contraindications to pharmacological treatment for presbyopia.
The Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® will not be contraindicated if the surgery has not affected the crystalline lens or the retina. Most of patients who have been operated of hyperopia, myopia and / or astigmatism can solve their presbyopia with the use of the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi®pharmacological treatment. All patients should be previously assessed by a trained ophthalmologist to determine which is the most appropriate treatment for each situation and whether they can or cannot perform the pharmacological treatment for presbyopia.
Depending on the type of surgery performed. If the surgery consisted in the removal of the crystalline lens and the insertion of an intraocular lens, you cannot be treated with the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi®. Otherwise, if the surgery was performed with laser in the cornea and without the replacement of the lens, then it would be possible to treat presbyopia with the pharmacological treatment. All patients should be previously assessed by a trained ophthalmologist to determine which is the most appropriate treatment for each situation and whether they can or cannot perform the pharmacological treatment for presbyopia.
The pharmacological treatment for presbyopia is only effective as long as no diseases appears that contraindicates the treatment or the lens becomes rigid and nontransparent (cataract), which could be statistically from the age of 65. All patients who perform the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® should be periodically assessed by their ophthalmologist for the duration of their treatment.
Eye drops used by the pharmacological treatment for presbyopia must be prescribed by a trained ophthalmologist (not available without a prescription) and can be purchased from pharmacies authorized by the Public Health Ministry by prescription (off label).
The Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® is a reversible treatment, it can be suspended without inconvenience and without any adverse effect that prevent any other ophthalmological procedure from being performed. The suspension of the Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® treatment allows you to return to your original eyeglasses.
The eyedrops used by Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® must be prescribed by a trained ophthalmologist who knows the procedure and the contraindications of its application. If there is any contraindication or hypersensitivity to the drugs used, the doctor will diagnose it at the first assessement and will not indicate the treatment.
The eye drops used by the pharmacological treatment for presbyopia must be prescribed by a trained ophthalmologist (not available without a prescription) and can be purchased from pharmacies authorized by the Public Health Ministry by prescription. The drugs used in the eyedrops are approved by all the sanitary inspection entities in Argentina and in the rest of the world.
The Benozzi Method/Método Benozzi® is establishing relationships with Multinational Laboratories for a massive international launch to have the due acknowledgment peer to the size of such discovery.
