Complementary studies performed at Centro Benozzi

We have the equipment needed for an accurate diagnosis and proper follow-up of every eye condition. These studies complement the eye exam and allow an in-depth evaluation of the retina, cornea, optic nerve and intraocular pressure, among other structures, to detect any issue early.

Complementary studies

Computerized visual field (CVF)

Useful in evaluating conditions such as glaucoma, maculopathies and retinopathies of various origins, optic nerve disorders and neurological conditions.

Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM)

Uses ultrasound to evaluate the eye's anterior segment; useful for monitoring glaucoma, ciliary body and anterior retina conditions, uveitis, cataract evaluation, among others.

Corneal topography

Useful in evaluating corneal curvature for the analysis and monitoring of corneal conditions such as keratoconus, astigmatism, and others.

Corneal pachymetry

A study that evaluates corneal thickness and refractive alterations, indicated for monitoring both corneal conditions and glaucoma.

Ocular ultrasound

Uses ultrasound to evaluate the eyeball and part of the orbit, even in the presence of media opacity.

Ocular biometry

Uses ultrasound to measure the eyeball and its structures. Useful for monitoring children and necessary for cataract surgery evaluation.

Optical coherence tomography (OCT)

We perform macular, optic nerve and anterior chamber OCT. This type of tomography allows evaluation of both the anterior and posterior segments and the retina for various eye conditions.

Dry eye test

Functions and measurements of the tear film and ocular surface that help identify and treat various ocular surface conditions.

Color vision test

Uses different tests to evaluate color perception; useful in macular, neurological and toxicological conditions alike.

Daily intraocular pressure (IOP) curve

Evaluates IOP variations according to the patient's circumstances. Useful for diagnosing and monitoring patients with glaucoma or at risk of developing it.

Ocular electrophysiology

We perform electroretinogram, electrooculogram and visual evoked potentials, which allow a comprehensive evaluation of the visual electrical impulse from the retina to the occipital cortex.

Mechanotherapy

A technique that mechanically stimulates the ocular surface and the meibomian glands, improving tear production and quality as part of dry eye treatment.

Thermotherapy

Application of localized heat to the eyelids to improve meibomian gland function and relieve dry eye symptoms.
